Pamela Anderson’s ‘Unflattering’ & ‘Sloppy’ Floral & Pink Red Carpet Dresses Draw Mixed Reactions

Pamela Anderson has always been known for her glamorous and bold statements, and her promotional appearances for 2024’s “The Last Showgirl” showcased her iconic style in a fresh and captivating way. As she stepped back into the spotlight, the legendary actress and model brought a unique blend of nostalgia and contemporary fashion that resonates with fans, old and new.

At the age of 57, the “Baywatch” actress took to the red carpet to promote her film, “The Last Showgirl.” As expected, she went all out with her style choices. Known for her beachy blonde waves and sultry smile, she effortlessly channels a classic Hollywood vibe while integrating modern trends. This remained the case when Anderson attended the 72nd San Sebastian International Film Festival on Sept. 27, 2024.

The actress stepped out in a Carolina Herrera floral print A-line dress with a loose neckline and full sleeves. She opted for nude heels to balance the multicolored dress. She polished the modest look off with her iconic blonde hair brushed back and sported a makeup-free, fresh face and minimal lipgloss. 

Anderson later changed into a pale pink, cape-style gown by legendary designer Elie Saab. Like the first, the dress was demure and modest. It was also adorned with a sparkling brooch on the chest. This time, she complemented the look with bright red lipstick and styled her hair into a chic bun.

However, she failed to win over fans entirely with both looks. Many took to the internet to rate the outfits. The floral dress seemed to receive the brunt of the negative comments, with one Facebook user going as far as calling it “frumpy,” while another urged critics to “stop the hate.”

Since her “Baywatch” days, Anderson has always been known for her stunning physique, so many fans were disappointed by the A-line, loose dresses she chose. 

“(It’s) not hate it’s very unflattering on her she has a beautiful body and this dress does nothing for her!” one user reacted to the floral dress.

A fan on Reddit shared their thoughts on a series of pictures of Anderson taken while wearing the floral dress, commenting:

“The floral is pretty, but the fit is wrong. Oversized looks slightly sloppy on her. I love slide 11 though. She looks so carefree and happy.” 

Disapproval of the floral dress continued, with one user calling it “a lumpy housecoat.” Luckily, it managed to win over a few compliments, with one fan coming to her defense and writing:

“That’s how you age gracefully. No makeup, No excuses for how she looks. Beautiful.”

The pink dress had more luck with winning over fans, with one fan remarking:

“I love the pink. It looks great on her.”

“(Wow) she looks STUNNING. I love this for her,” another netizen chimed in.

Overall, though, most fans were left unimpressed by both dresses. Luckily, many also came to Anderson’s defense amid the vitriol and criticism.

“Not really a fan of the cut of either of these dresses- the pink one completely overwhelms her and the floral one looks like a house coat. That being said, she looks gorgeous otherwise and the colors suit her well,” one fan wrote.

Despite or because of her style choices, Anderson proved her appeal isn’t limited to her looks alone. She also received the honor of being named one of Glamour magazine’s two global Women of the Year and was described as “an icon of pop culture since the ’90s.”
