Singer P!nk took to Instagram to let the world know her father was having surgery on his back, following his second round of chemotherapy. The post praised her father, her husband Carey Hart, their mutual doctor Dr. Bray, as well as her dad's wife Grace. Thankfully the post ended with positive news that he is recovering well, while the musician even took a lighthearted approach and made some jokes.

Uploaded to Instagram, the photo shows P!nk's dad laying down and prepped for surgery while holding hands with his wife Grace. Despite it being a nervous moment, he's got a wide smile and his eyes are beaming at the camera. The singer even references this in her caption, writing:

"This is my dear Dad this morning headed in for surgery. He just finished his second round of chemo for prostate cancer, fell off a ladder and fractured his back, lost function in his legs until my battered and bruised husband shared his brilliant doctor... Dr. Bray of DISC sports and Spine Center (I love this man with all of my heart) all three of these aforementioned men actually. But here he is, my Dad, scared and in pain sitting with the love of his life, our Grace, and what’s he doing???? Smiling. Cracking jokes. Making everyone else feel better."

From her post, it's clear that P!nk loves her father very much, and is able to poke fun of him even when she's clearly very concerned. But he also seems to do the same with her, making jokes even as he's headed into surgery.

Although his back surgery and chemotherapy for prostate cancer are unrelated, it's a lot of healing for one person to go through. But luckily he came out of the surgery fine and was even cracking jokes at the other end—of course! P!nk wrote at the end of the same post:

"He’s already back to his old tricks ten hours later, talking about napalm and snipers and viruses and blood puddles.... oh, Dad. How amazing it is to watch you whistle through Hell."

Their love is obviously very strong that they're able to poke fun at each other, even during such difficult times, but that's what family is all about. Fans and other celebrities, including Kate Hudson and Chrissy Metz, sent their love in the comments.

However, fans haven't always been kind to P!nk on her Instagram. She gets her fair share of trolls and mom-shamers, which USA Today highlighted in an article where they compiled the singer's best takedowns. Nobody should have to put up with that kind of online bullying, but it's great that P!nk doesn't take it lying down and knows when to speak up.

It's clear that the musician has nothing but love for her family, and we wish them and especially her father all the best in his recovery journey.
