Alecia Beth Moore, who is known professionally as P!nk, is no stranger to the spotlight. At 43 years old, she has been a presence in the entertainment industry since 1995.

Known for her distinctive, raspy voice and tough, alternative exterior, P!nk has won three Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, a Daytime Emmy Award and seven MTV Video Music Awards, including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. She has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the world’s best-selling music artists of all time.

P!nk was also the second most-played female solo artist in the United Kingdom during the 2000s, behind only one artist — Madonna. Fittingly, P!nk has named Madonna, along with Janis Joplin, as a major inspiration for her professional career.

Aside from her music, P!nk is known for being authentic and true to herself. Her lyrics often speak about being real. Not only does this theme appear in her music, but it seems to carry over into her personal life as well. She’s often very candid about her struggles and experiences, and she often expresses her desire to be seen as a real person, not just a celebrity.

On Nov. 21, 2022, P!nk, along with her husband and two kids, graced the red carpet of the American Music Awards as she was set to give a performance for her song “Never Gonna Not Dance Again” from her upcoming album “Trustfall.”

The talented singer also honored Olivia Newton-John – a music icon the world lost in August 202 – through a tribute performance.

On Nov. 21, 2022, the entire Moore-Hart household was present at the American Music Awards as P!nk’s husband, Hart, and their children, Willow and Jameson, accompanied the pop star on the red carpet.

For other celebrity parents, bringing your kids to work for important events such as an awards ceremony often leads to a headache, but for P!nk, the trip to the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California, for the AMAs was one of their many family bonding moments.

Speaking to PEOPLE on the red carpet, P!nk jokingly teased that her family, including her husband, didn’t know where they actually were and were just waiting for ice cream. Asked by the publication if this was the first time that P!nk brought her family together on the red carpet, P!nk said it was already “old hat” for them. In 2018, the songstress brought her family to the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, as well as the 2019 CMA Awards in Nashville.

The “Just Give Me A Reason” singer further revealed that they were actually excited about Imagine Dragon’s performance and P!nk’s two numbers too. The pop rock band Imagine Dragons delivered a show-stopping medley of their songs "Bones" and "Enemy" with rapper JID.

As for P!nk, she debuted her new song, “Never Gonna Not Dance Again,” on live television. She also sang a heartfelt and powerful rendition of “Hopelessly Devoted to You” as a tribute to the passing of Newton-John in August 2022.

Superstardom came for the late star when she was cast in the 1978 musical “Grease” opposite John Travolta. Newton-John’s portrayal of an innocent Australian student pining for Travolta’s Danny Zuko was a hit, breaking records at the time it was released and securing critical and commercial success.

This success was due in part to the film’s soundtrack, which included a fair few numbers with Newton-John, including “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Summer Nights” and “You’re The One That I Want.” Then came “Physical.” The album, along with the title track of the same name, would blow up in 1981 due in part to the provocative lyrics and music video that accompanied the single.

P!nk paid tribute to the late star by singing “Hopelessly Devoted to You” at the AMAs. She spoke with ET prior to her emotional performance about how much of an impact Newton-John had on the world.

P!nk said:

"She was an absolute icon, and also, she was a wonderful human being. I loved her voice. My daughter just got done doing ‘Grease’ in her theatre production, and she actually helped me learn the song.”

Her performance was stunning and a true honor to Newton-John. P!nk passionately belted the words as photos of the late “Grease” star appeared on a screen on-stage.

P!nk had previously honored Newton-John the day she passed with a heartfelt Instagram post. She shared a photo of the two of them together alongside the caption:

“I met her maybe three times- and she was an absolute angel. One of the loveliest, kindest, light from within human beings I have ever met. Kindness personified. May she Rest In Peace and may her family be held in love and light during this difficult time.”

While the world will never have another Newton-John, it’s safe to say that P!nk paid tribute to the late star extremely well.
