Not every day, an international superstar stops a concert to say 'Hi' to you. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Pink's compassion was commendable as she stopped her concert in Brisbane, Australia, back in 2018 to locate a 14-year-old named Debbie Murphy. The girl was holding up a sign that said her mother had died the previous month. Despite the pain Debbie was feeling, she came to the concert because she knew it was what her mother would have wanted her to do.

Debbie Murphy was extremely excited to be able to attend the concert in Brisbane, Australia featuring Pink. She adored dancing to the songs of her favorite pop star. She was going to go to the concert with her friend, but just weeks before the concert, she suddenly and unexpectedly died.

Leah was Debbie's 14-year-old daughter, and the loss of her mother devastated her. Her mother died in June of 2018, shortly before the concert.

Leah decided to use her mother's ticket to go to the concert because she believed her mother would have wanted her to attend and dance all night long. Leah's family tried to contact Pink, but their pleas did not receive any response.

They made a sign to take to the concert, but the fourteen-year-old didn't believe Pink would ever see it. The sign said Leah was age fourteen and lost her beautiful mother last month. It also said she needed a hugDuring the concert, Pink did see Leah's sign and made the night one she would never forget.

'Hi, my name's Leah. I'm 14 years old and I just lost my beautiful mum. I would love a hug,' Murphy's sign read to the superstar.

The teen's cousin who was in attendance that night, Katrina Donkin, told CBS News that never in her wildest dreams did she think the star singer would actually spot her sign. "We didn't think there was a chance, but we held them up in hope she would see it," said Donkin. The Australian teen said that many people in the crowd joined in to help her efforts of getting noticed. Donkin also spoke with Abc News and said that they knew they had an opportunity during the slower parts of Pink's setlist.

"Once Pink got down to the quiet music she was looking out to the crowd, that's when I started waving the sign," Donkin recalled

"Strangers in the crowd grabbed the signs and we waved them frantically whenever she looked over our way," she remembered. "Until she squinted and said 'OK what IS that?'" Donkin added. After Pink noticed the sign, the crowd helped pass the sign to the stage for the star to get a better look. After reading the sign, Pink entered the crowd to find Murphy. Donkin said she tried to prepare Murphy for the intimate moment she was about to have. "I just whispered in her ear, 'you're going to get your hug, sweetheart. We're going to get you the hug'," Donkin shared. Donkin said they were so close to the stage for the special moment.

"We ended up at the front row and Pink just held her for … it felt like 20 seconds. And Leah's only 14, she's a teeny-tiny little thing and she just sobbed uncontrollably in her arms," Donkin recalled

"Pink said to her 'you're pretty -- oh don't cry -- it's going to be OK,'" her cousin remembered of the magical night. "Leah told Pink how much her mum loved her," she said

"Pink took a selfie with her, signed her arm in marker, and then hopped back on the stage and said, 'everyone call your mum'." she remembered.

Murphy's cousin said that the teen has been reliving the moment ever since the concert. Since her mom died, that memory has been one of the happiest moments of her life. "She is so heartbroken," Donkin said. "But since the concert, she hasn't stopped smiling and singing," her cousin added. Having that memory with the legendary singer is something that Murphy's late mom would have been over the moon to see. Donkin shared with CBS News that Murphy's mom, Debbie, had purchased Pink tickets thinking she would attend the concert with her young daughter.

"When Debbie had planned to go to the concert originally, she used to dance around with Leah in the loungeroom to Pink's music turned up loud," said Donkin. "Debbie loved to dance more than anything," Donkin shared. The family believed that Debbie helped facilitate the once-in-a-lifetime experience from heaven.

"I believed she orchestrated the whole thing and sent her little girl a hug from heaven," Donkin shared.

The family couldn't believe that Pink would take the time to pay attention to a fan. "She's just a huge, huge fan of Pink, and so was her mum, so it was just amazing she took the time to give her a hug," Donkin said. Murphy's cousin said that Pink's music is a healing tool for Leah after losing her mom. "She relates to the music, I think she's grieving through the lyrics and it's helping her process it," she said

The popular video that was posted on Youtube has nearly 100,000 views. People from all over the world and the internet couldn't believe the sweet gesture from the superstar.

One Youtube user commented on the video and said, "You can always count on Pink... that was absolutely beautiful! I'm sure that girls Mother had a little bit to do with that, as she smiles and watched her daughter in heaven.."

Another Youtube user said that this couldn't have been more of a bittersweet moment. "This is sad and beautiful in the same time. Kind reaction from Pink!" they wrote. This has not been the only time Pink has stopped her concert to pay attention to a loyal and loving fan. In 2018 when 12-year-old Victoria Anthony made it known on Twitter that not only did she want to meet the famous pop star Pink but also wanted to sing at her upcoming Vancouver concert, it seemed like a far-off fantasy.

In the video, which was posted to Victoria's YouTube page, Pink stopped the concert and asked if Victoria was in the crowd. She said, "So, are you who I read about on the news? Are you the singer?" After Victoria and her mom made it known that she was, in fact, that girl, Pink asked, "Do you want to come sing something?"

It is incredible to realize how much compassion is left in this world. Telling everyone you know to read about Pink's selfless action would be an incredible step to take. Be sure to pass this beautiful article along to your friends and family!
