P!nk Feels ‘No One’ Will ‘Ever’ Love Her The Way Her Late Dad Did Before He Passed Away In 2021

Although it's been nearly two decades since P!nk's debut single hit the Billboard Hot 100, the 43-year-old pop star is still shaking things up in the entertainment industry. The singer, who has brought us hits such as "Get the Party Started" and "There You Go," was born on Sept. 8, 1979, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

P!nk, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, began her music career in a girl band. When that didn't work out, she went solo in 1999 at the age of 20 and has never looked back. According to Billboard, she has 15 top 10 hits and is one of the bestselling US music artists to date.

The singer credits her love for music to her father, Jim Moore, who was a Vietnam war veteran. Calling her dad her “first rock star,” was one of her dear recollections of the Moore patriarch.

In a 2007 MTV show, P!nk interrupted her own performance as she brought her father onstage to perform the song "I Have Seen the Rain," a piece that her dad wrote 40 years ago in Vietnam.

"And I think it's important today because it's a soldier's cry and we're producing them by the thousands. And tonight this is a really special evening because the first time my dad's ever performed in front of a group is going to be right now,” the singer said at the time.

Since then, P!nk has maintained a close relationship with her father even after she got married to Carey Hart and had her own family.

However, P!nk was devastated when Moore passed away in 2021. In 2020, she revealed that her father was undergoing chemotherapy for prostate cancer and also had other health setbacks that strained him.

Almost two years after her father’s death, P!nk is still mourning and processing her grief.

Her love for her father is honored on her latest album, “TRUSTFALL.” According to People Magazine, the album’s first track, “When I Get There,” resonated with her, despite being written by others.

“They sent me that song after he passed, and I felt like it was a gift. I wouldn't be able to write that song yet. I haven't unpacked that suitcase yet. I don't think I will for a while," she told the magazine. “But it's such a simple, beautiful song, and I love the idea that he might be somewhere nice."

P!nk and her father shared a close relationship. In times that she can, the singer shares with the world the valuable lessons that her father taught her growing up. For instance, during the time she received her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019.

"Today for me is a celebration of something that my dad taught me. And that is 'to thine own self be true' ... There is a power in believing in yourself — you may not be the best that ever did it, you may not be the prettiest or the tallest of the funniest or the most talented," P!nk advised.

Explaining more about her feelings to the magazine, P!nk tried to verbalize the grief she experienced at the time she found out the saddening news.

"When a daughter loses her father, your first thought is, 'No one's ever going to love me like that again,' and it's a very lonely feeling. I wish I could talk to him sometimes and ask him more questions,” she recalled.
