P!nk Celebrates 41st Birthday Today

Pop legend Pink celebrates her 41st birthday today. The singer, who has brought us hits such as "Get the Party Started" and "There You Go," was born on September 8, 1979, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, began her music career in a girl band. When that didn't work out, she went solo in 1999, at the age of 20, and has never looked back. According to Billboard, she has 15 top 10 hits and is one of the bestselling US music artists to date. 

Apart from being a trailblazer in the music industry, the punk princess has also come to be known for her quirky hairstyles throughout her career. In the photo above, the singer is shown rocking a short, fuchsia-pink, layered cut. The photos were taken as she attended the 2000 Soul Train Awards.

The singer is hailed as changing the game for the pop world, not only through her edgy style of music but also for her openness, honesty, and vulnerability. We can see a true artist at work, both professionally and personally.

While accepting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019, Pink thanked her fans, family, and husband–45-year-old Carey Hart. She said, 

"My husband—he's so cute. He's my muse, and if he didn't piss me off all the time, I'd have not much to say. I wouldn't be standing up here if it wasn't for you. Never change."

Later that year, she also was given the People's Champion Award at E! People's Choice Awards 2019. 

According to EWN, in her speech, she had a strong message to share: "Kindness today is an act of rebellion. There are people who don't have what you have, help them get it. There is a planet that needs help, it feels good to help. Stop fighting each other and help each other."

Pink now resides on a farm with her husband Carey Hart, and their two children, nine-year-old Willow, and three-year-old Jameson. Hart often marks the occasion by posting sweet notes about his wife. Last year, he wrote an especially sweet one for her 40th birthday, which read:

"Happy birthday to my amazing wife @pink!!!! We have been together almost 17 years, and it has been a true blessing to watch you grow from a crazy lil girl to a strong woman. Through all of our ups and downs you have always been a loving and consistent person. I'm so proud of the woman, mother, performer, and partner you have become."
