A dog named Munchkin was ready to be euthanized because owners thought that they needed a young dog for their family.
According to KVVU, the owners wanted Munchkin to be euthanized because the dog was reaching its maximum age between 12 and 15 years. Luckily, the veterinarian at the clinic recognized that Munchkin was a perfectly healthy dog that did not need to be euthanized.
Instead, the vet managed to convince the owners to surrender the dog so he could stay at an animal shelter to be adopted eventually. As soon as Munchkin moved to A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue, the cute dog was instantly spotted by Michele Padilla and her family.

Now, Munchkin has a new home where he has made friends with another senior pet dog, Bucky. Still, Michele cannot understand the reason for someone to euthanize their pets because they want to make room for another pet.
“Unfortunately, this happens more than anyone of us would like to know. Munchkin was very lucky. It does happen that they kind of get dumped,” she told KVVU.
Hearing the heart-wrenching story of Munchkin, the family has decided to document the life of their beautiful new pet on Instagram. For Munchkin, he is already soaking up all the love and warmth that his new family is giving him.
According to Padilla, Munchkin is a fun-loving dog that is never without a smile. By spreading her message through video, Padilla tries to convince others to adopt senior animals who are just waiting for a loving family. She also wants others to know these senior dogs will love you for the rest of their lives if you give them a home and a family to live.
Isn't it comforting to know that Munchkin was given a second chance at life? Make sure you pass this story on to others. You might inspire someone to save a loving pooch!
