Owning a pet means that you have to dedicate your life to taking care of your dog or cat. So, you need to think about several things before you adopt a pet. For instance, some apartment managers do not allow pets. Another thing to consider is the extra money you will need to spend on visits to the veterinarian, special training, pet insurance, toys and food. You should not adopt a pet if you are having financial problems.

Nevertheless, many individuals do not follow sound advice. These pet owners end up with serious difficulties. Some people give up their pets out of desperation. Three Shih Tzus were brought to the Spokane Humane Society because their owner was unable to care for them.

Each dog is 11 years old. The names of the dogs are Candy, Katie and Angel. The Shih Tzus were unkempt. Their fur was tangled and dirty. Their nails had never been trimmed. They also had problems with their teeth.

The owner wanted the animal shelter's employees to euthanize the three dogs. His explanation was that the dogs were in the habit of biting people.

But the staff talked the owner into surrendering the dogs into the shelter's care. Next, the staff and a group of volunteers decided to groom the dogs. Pet groomers also pitched in to help the staff groom the puppies.

They all agreed to name the pups the "three little ladies." It took the grooming team approximately six hours to shave off the tangled fur. They were amazed when they found out that the fur weighed 13 pounds. They could not believe that the three tiny dogs had been able to carry around all that weight.

The dogs began to show off their unique characteristics. Development director Pia Hallenberg mentioned that the owner had been wrong about the dogs. They did not bite. She said that Candy, Katie, and Angel had outgoing, loving personalities. Katie enjoys kissing everyone. Angel loves to cuddle. Candy loves being petted.

The dogs still need to see a veterinarian to treat their sores and skin infections. People have already donated more than $3,900 via a Facebook fundraiser and other avenues. These noble supporters deserve special blessings. People will have a chance to adopt the pups after they receive medical treatment.
