Owner Abandons Dog On Empty Street, Says ‘Bye-Bye’ Before Leaving In Cruel Act Caught On Camera

Animal lovers worldwide would risk their lives for their beloved pets without thinking twice and couldn’t ever imagine parting with their furry friends. In a distressing incident that has stirred widespread outrage, a home surveillance video captured the moment a small black-and-white dog was abandoned on a street in Surprise, Arizona. 

The footage posted on Facebook showed a red SUV pulling up to a dead-end street. The back door opened as the vehicle slowed down, and a small dog was seen being released onto the pavement. A voice from inside the car was heard saying, “Bye-bye,” before the SUV sped away, leaving the confused canine behind. The poor pup then tried to follow after the car but failed to catch up. Eventually, the dog encountered a kind stranger at the end of the street. 

Tricia Skubic-Swesey’s home surveillance captured the heartwrenching incident, and she updated viewers in the caption, writing:

“Anyone recognize this car or puppy? The puppy was thrown out of the car today at 12:17.  The dog is contained with a neighbor. Picked up by animal control. Police have been notified.”

Many netizens were outraged at the blatant abandonment of the dog. It also broke the hearts of many dog and animal lovers, who criticized the dog owner for being cruel and heartless. It also sparked a conversation about animal rights and the need for those who mistreat animals to be held accountable by the law.

After the upsetting video went viral, several netizens and authorities shared their thoughts on the matter. According to Arizona Family, Joanna Buessen discovered the pup wandering in the neighborhood during an afternoon stroll. She opened up about how she felt upon finding the abandoned dog, saying:

“I was angered. I was flabbergasted, shocked. Just so many emotions.”

She criticized the dog owners for soullessly ditching the helpless animal without a care.

“I think that they had no remorse for their actions, and I think that is the telltale that it is malicious intent,” Buesen said, adding, “I understand things are hard and things can be tough in life, but you don’t have to be a soulless human. And that is just a soulless thing.”

The police also updated the community and people who had been angered by the video online, revealing that they had received several tips concerning the perpetrators of the crime. 

“The video posted on social media has led to numerous tips that our investigators are following up on,” police told Fox 10. 

Sadly, the incident was one of several abandonments in the area, raising concerns over the welfare of animals in Arizona.

“Animal cruelty in the state of Arizona is on the rise,” the authorities revealed. 

Later, the police also shared an update informing the public that two people had turned themselves in, writing:

“Update: Two people have turned themselves in. The pup is living his best life with the Surprise Police Department right now.”

The dog was later handed over to the Arizona Humane Society. In the wake of this heartbreaking event, the police urged people who cannot care for their pets to either reach out to a neighbor or seek assistance from an animal shelter.
