Latte is a young puppy who recently survived a chance encounter with an aggressive owl. This 12-week-old puppy from Arizona will now have a crazy story to tell her friends.

All seemed normal as Latte minded her own business in the backyard of her foster home. Latte was playing with other foster dogs like she does every single day. Something must have been watching this puppy the entire time.

In the middle of a game of tag, an owl flew down and snatched Latte from the backyard. Fortunately, none of the other foster dogs were hurt during the abduction. Bonnie Ziegler, the owner and operator of the foster home, wasn't watching her puppies when the owl grabbed Latte. Bonnie was around the corner tending to some daily chores.

Bonnie remained oblivious to the whereabouts of Latte for the next twelve hours. She couldn't understand what had happened. The backyard was too secure for an escape. After all, Latte was only 12-months-old. It would have been very difficult for the dog to find her way out of the backyard.

Twelve hours had passed since Latte went missing when some golfers found the poor dog at a local golf course. The owl had dropped the puppy after realizing that it wasn't the usual prey. Latte suffered some injuries from the sharp talons of the owl. She was also very dehydrated from all of the excitement.

Melissa Gable works as the chief engagement officer for Latte's rescue group. In an interview with People Magazine about the incident, Melissa mentioned that the attack isn't uncommon. While most people are surprised to hear about an owl grabbing a small puppy, these situations aren't so unheard of in desert climates.

Owls are one of the most feared predators in these warmer areas. Despite their moderate size, owls are known to attack animals comparable to their size. From snakes and mice to rabbits and coyotes, owls don't seem to be afraid of any animal. While living in these harsh environments, animals become less picky about their prey. Although the owl didn't intend to eat a puppy, Latte looked similar enough to his normal meals.

After being rescued by the golfers, Latte was taken to veterinarian to be treated for her injuries. She has since been nursed back to full health. She is back to normal and still enjoys playing with her foster siblings in Bonnie's backyard.
