Nature’s Miracle Orphans is a documentary that's part of a BBC nature series. It’s a film that shows a young elephant that was saved from danger conquering his fear of water with Roxy Danckwerts by his side. Roxy takes care of the elephants at the Wildlife Sanctuary in Zimbabwe. The name of the sanctuary is Wild is Life, and Danckwerts is its founder.

Mayo had a traumatic experience when he was less than one week old. The young elephant came very close to drowning and found going in the water terrifying after that frightful experience. Fortunately, as shown in Nature’s Miracle Orphans, Mayo was able to fearlessly enjoy the water with the aid of his friends Josephine and Roxy Danckwerts after many months of therapy.

It took a year and two months for the therapy to take effect, but the outcome was as heartwarming as it was successful.

When the young elephant was led to a nearby pond by Roxy to get him used to going into the water, you can see that he was apprehensive at first and turned away.

After a few minutes, however, he slowly walked into the pond and started to enjoy it. Roxy stayed with him and spoke to him in a way that made him feel calm and safe.

Watch the uplifting video below to see how adorable Mayo conquers his fear of the water, and watch how he goes from fearing it to loving it.
