Glastonbury Music Festival Co-organizer Emily Eavis has officially shut down rumors that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga would be performing at the event in a message tweeted this morning.

Rumors started circulating after Scottish radio DJ Edith Bowman revealed on BBC’s Sunday Brunch show that Cooper said on her podcast that he and Lady Gaga would like to play one of the stages at the festival grounds. However, our hopes were crushed when Eavis admantly denied the speculation.

However, Eavis cleared up any thinking that the pair would do a surprise performance at the Glastonbury Music Festival saying in a tweet, “Before this one gets out of control... the answer is no, that isn’t happening. (Although you can watch the amazing A Star Is Born in our Pilton Palais cinema tent at 4.30pm on Friday.)”

You can imagine our reaction. Twitter users didn’t want to believe Eavis’ tweet either. One user tweeted, “So that’s a maybe then” while another said, “Lies.”

But it wasn’t entirely crazy to think that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga would perform at the festival. I mean Cooper did shoot a scene for his film "A Star Is Born" at the festival on the pyramid stage according to the Independent.

The movie which was a mega-hit at the box office captured Cooper and Lady Gaga’s incredible chemistry on camera. That chemistry found its way into real life and the duos sizzling Oscar performance only fueled hopes that the pair should be together romantically.

According to a source close to the couple cited by CNN Bradley Cooper and his longtime girlfriend, Irina Shayk broke up earlier this month. Lady Gaga also called off her engagement to Christian Carino in February of this year. We’re not saying the stars are aligning here or anything... But we can hope, can’t we?
