Onlookers Gather To Watch Teen Battle ‘Statue’ In Dance-Off

If the media has provided us any lesson, it's that nothing can decide who's a champion better than a good dance battle. However, it's not all-too-common that you get to observe one taking place in reality. This is especially so if you are out buying things for the day, and the dance battle is between a “statue” and a teenager! The entire crowd should have brought some popcorn for their front-row seats to the greatest dubstep dance battle of their lives. Since it was posted in 2013, the video has accumulated millions of views.

The video opens up with each dancer performing a brief stretching routine to prepare for the battle ahead. The statue, known as “Eclypse,” points to the challenger Noster as an invitation for him to go first. Noster accepts this and begins to bust a move.

With a small but growing crowd at his back, Noster breaks out a rather impressive hello that is sharp, methodical, and hypnotic. The electronic track song Levels by Skrillex booms in the background; it’s an outstanding electro remix for the dance battle of the century.

As Noster’s turn progresses, so too does his speed increase. He begins to incorporate a series of popping techniques that complement the rhythm of the dubstep song. Despite being the more “human” contender, Noster appears more and more like a mechanical being built for dance! He actually has his own YouTube channel where he describes himself as a musician, artist, and dancer.

Eventually, Noster’s amazing performance comes to a close, and the now much larger crowd gives him a round of applause. Eclypse gives his rival a “meh” hand gesture before bringing out his own routine. It’s important to note though that the “statue” is rather limited in his space; he only has a small silver platform that matches his attire and body to dance on. He begins to turn slowly as if the platform he’s standing on is spinning or winding up.

As one might assume, Eclypse is far from an amateur when it comes to dancing. When it comes to electronic dubstep, he's nearly unbeatable! As a member of “The Millennium Robots,” a dance group based out of Cincinnati, Eclypse is top-of-the-line. It's clear that there's not going to be an easy winner here; Eclypse’s routine is absolutely stunning in accuracy and timing with the beats. The crowd absolutely eats it up and gives him just as large of applause once he’s finished.

When it comes to The Millennium Robots being painted silver, they say that the main reason is to use the color as a metaphor for representing their creative abilities. They want to give everyone the inspiration and courage to nurture and explore their personal talents and imaginations.

Since both dancers performed so well, the video has really won over the internet in droves! The video was originally posted in 2013, but it has since gotten 18 million views! Noster gave an update recently to share that the video has led him to make more art, music, and dance content and really kickstarted his dancing fame. He’s grateful to Eclypse for dancing with him and even set up a rematch with him in the future. He’s proud to have lots of fans all over the world and happily gives credit to The Millennium Robots for their own killer moves!

What do you think about the dance battle that sparked the internet aflame? Who do you think performed better in the dance-off? Do you or your friends think that you’d have a slick enough moveset to challenge a dancing statue? If so, then we want to hear about it in your comments!
