Olympian Simone Biles Makes History By Becoming The First Woman To Land Not One but Two Never-Before Competed Moves As She Casually Wins Her Sixth National Title

At the young age of 22, Simone Biles is not only the best gymnast in the country but in the world. This past weekend, the gymnast did not only complete the 'hardest move in the world,' but she became the first woman in history to do it during competition.

As if she couldn't get any better, the champion also successfully completed another stunt that has never before been successfully completed during a competitive routine.

At the 2019 US Gymnastic Championships in Kansas City, MO, the 22-year-old took home her sixth national all-around win. The multiple-day event had Simone leading the entire duration. In her history-making routines, she performed a never-before-competed double-twisting, double somersault dismount on the beam.

“I’m really happy with the beam dismount and how it’s come along because if you had asked me after [U.S. Classic] if I was going to complete it, I would’ve said no,” Biles admitted to Team USA

Not only did she make history with her beam dismount performance but the gold medalist also became the first woman to land a triple-double during her floor routine. Biles told  the New York Times, that the triple-double is "the hardest move in the world."

Biles had originally attempted the triple-double on Friday but she, unfortunately, lost her balance while landing the move and put her hands on the floor which is counted as a fall. But the gymnast came back for revenge on Sunday and with history in the making.

Sunisa Lee who also competed alongside Biles at the championship said to The Daily Mail, "She does stuff that I never thought people could do." The win is the first time in nearly 70 years that a woman has won 6 U.S. all-around titles according to Team USA.

If this is how Biles is making her mark just at nationals we can't wait for what she does at the Olympics next year in Tokyo.
