The "Grease" star is no stranger to cancer, as she had breast cancer in the 1990s and shoulder cancer in 2013. In both cases, she managed to beat them. However, her recent diagnosis is much bleaker than the ones before.

She once got candid with the CBS This Morning host when speaking about death and its inevitability. "You have to think about it, I mean, it’s part of life," she said.

"I could die tomorrow. A tree could fall on me. So, it’s just that we have that knowledge that we could die. But I’m not — I try not to think about it too much. But I try to meditate and be peaceful about it and know that everyone I love is there, so there’s something to look forward to."

Speaking with Women’s Weekly, she talked about how grateful she was for the aging process stating that it is “inevitable.”

"I am just grateful to be getting older,” she continues in the publication. “The alternative is that you are not here at all, so I am very happy. If I continue to feel the way I am and getting better every day then I am just delighted. You know that every day is a gift. You just don’t know, even if you don’t have cancer, when your time is up – so every day is a gift for everyone.”

Newton-John said to reporters that she wants to see cancer eradicated in her lifetime. She works towards that goal with her work with a Cancer Wellness & Research Centre named for her, as well as the Gaia Retreat & Spa in New South Wales.

She also recently generously donated her “Grease” memorabilia for a massive auction that fetched $2.4 million, part of which will go to cancer research reports The Guardian. A lucky bidder was even able to nab her iconic black outfit as Sandy at the end of the film. The tight leather pants and leather jacket went for $405,700, twice the expected price.

‘I think it is a joyous event because my Grease memorabilia is going for a wonderful cause,’ says Olivia to Women’s Weekly. ‘A portion of the money raised will go towards my Cancer Wellness & Research Centre, and I want to do more plant medicine research.’
