Olivia Newton-John is in high hopes following her stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Her breast cancer has metastasized and is no longer able to be cured. This is the third time the “Grease” star has been diagnosed with cancer. However, she opened up about feeling 'happy and grateful' despite her diagnosis.

Speaking with CBS Sunday Morning, the 71-year-old said about living with her current prognosis, "I’m happy. I’m lucky. I’m grateful. I have much to live for. And I intend to keep on livin’ it."

The singer is no stranger to cancer, as she had breast cancer in the 1990s and shoulder cancer in 2013. In both cases, she managed to beat them. However, her recent diagnosis is much bleaker than the ones before.

“Everyday is a gift anyway, we don’t really know how long are life is and so every day is an extra bonus for me and I’m very grateful and I intend to be here for a long time, I have much to do still,” she told Entertainment Tonight in an interview.

Olivia says she has chosen not to know how much time she has left telling CBS, "In my opinion, if they give you a percentage, or you know, 'This many women get this and they live this long,' you can create that and make it happen," she said.

"It’s almost like — I think I know what the statistics are. And if, and, but I put them away. But I’m gonna live longer than that. I’ve made that decision. And I don’t buy into the statistics because I think they can make you really nervous."

She also got candid with the This Morning host when speaking about death and its inevitability. "You have to think about it, I mean, it’s part of life," she said.

"I could die tomorrow. A tree could fall on me. So, it’s just that we have that knowledge that we could die. But I’m not — I try not to think about it too much. But I try to meditate and be peaceful about it and know that everyone I love is there, so there’s something to look forward to."
