During pandemic times, Olivia Newton-John is staying at home and keeping healthy. The actress, usually always on the move and traveling around, has found ways to stay entertained at home. In a video-call interview with Entertainment Tonight, the star spoke about her experiences during this time and opened up about the fact that, at first, she wasn't very enthused about playing a role in Grease.

Fans may be confused by this piece of news. Newton-John played and is well-known for the lead role of Sandy in the iconic 1978 movie. The now 71-year-old star was originally born in England but moved to Australia at the age of six, where her career started at the age of 14. The actress and singer helped turn Grease into the beloved classic it is remembered as today.

Keeping this in mind, it's at first hard to believe Newton-John wasn't that happy about accepting the role. Ahead of the airing of a Grease sing-along version, Entertainment Tonight featured the star in a video-call interview. During the interview, she revealed that she wasn't even sure she should accept the role. Since many other actresses were also in the running for the role, there was a good chance Newton-John would never have made the cut.

However, John Travolta seemed to be very much in favor of Newton-John. He took to making flattering comments about his co-star-to-be and was even sent to talk Newton-John into going for the role.

“I was really quite hesitant to be in Grease, so they sent John Travolta to talk me into it. And how can you say no to those blue eyes?” the star said.

We can all be thankful that Newton-John was convinced to take the role and got it in the end. Can you imagine Grease with somebody else playing Sandy? What do you think about this revelation? Pass this story along to fellow Grease-fans and get their opinion!
