It is always a blessing to help the needy in society. Be it the homeless, the street kids, orphans, the elderly, or the sick, sharing some love with them goes a long way in making them happy. In most cases, people serving their country are not remembered as often as the others in need but not in Oklahoma. The residents of this city came together and decided to help about 700 soldiers who were stranded after the winter storm. This act of kindness touched so many people all over the world. What a splendid display of togetherness by the residents of Oklahoma!

What Really Happened?

A winter storm hit Oklahoma and left 700 soldiers without a place to sleep. They spent 24 hours at an airport, and the residents of Oklahoma could not bear to see this. They came together and made sure that all the soldiers at the airport had a decent meal.

They wanted to make sure that every soldier ate to their fill. Everyone was happy with how that night's events happened. Josh Ryan, a Will Rogers World Airport employee, told reporters that the people of Oklahoma would call constantly to ask how they could help after seeing the stranded soldiers.

In the same way that soldiers leave their bases to spend their holiday time with friends and families, Ft. Sill teams were at the airport to help them get onto their respective buses. John English, a captain who works at Ft. Sill, said that because of the bad weather, they could not risk the lives of the soldiers by letting them board buses at that time. This is why they decided to shelter them for the night.

While these soldiers waited for the storm to subside, the people of Oklahoma couldn't wait to supply them with all they required until the storm was over. Their main supply to the soldiers was food.

David Holt, Oklahoma City's mayor, spoke to reporters saying that the standards in this city are that everyone who visits must have a wonderful experience, especially the U.S. Army soldiers. None of the soldiers expected this to happen to them, which is why many people have rallied. This is a great way to show their support for the U.S. troops.
