A 25-year-old woman was trapped and pinned down by an SUV after crossing a Lower East Side street in Manhattan. Thankfully, a group of onlookers managed to free her.

Authorities say the pedestrian was crossing Delancey in the crosswalk when a 65-year-old woman made a right turn from Norfolk St. and hit her.  A car stopped at traffic was then hit which led to a domino effect of minor fender-benders which then led to the young woman being trapped under the SUV.

When they realized the woman was trapped, a quick-thinking bystander rushed up to the rear wheel of the vehicle and tried to lift it. Two more people quickly jumped in to help. Once others realized what was happening, a whole crowd had gathered to help. The strangers all came together to lift the driver's side of the SUV until the trapped woman was pulled out, as reported here by Global News.
