Many people have a “bucket list” of items that they want to complete during their life. This list becomes more urgent for those whose time is cut short by terminal illness. While facing your own mortality is never an easy proposition, a nurse from Minnesota has found a unique way to celebrate life in her final days.

Stephanie Anderson is a nurse who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and has been fighting for her life for 4 years. Despite her doctor’s efforts, her cancer did not respond to chemotherapy, resulting in new cancerous growths throughout her body. She has been told that she has a year at most to live.

Although Stephanie was devastated by her diagnosis, she chose to use the time she has left to focus on doing things she loves.

"If it wasn't for the cancer, I wouldn't have time to be sitting here doing these things. If it wasn't for the cancer, I wouldn't be able to be at home and helping take care of the grandbabies," Stephanie said to FOX News.

Recently, she shared one of her bucket list items on her Facebook page – she has always wanted to take a ride in a police patrol car. Stephanie said one of the reasons she wanted to ride with a cop was due to the “unending gratitude” she felt for police officers. When a St. Paul, Minnesota police department heard about her request, they were happy to make it happen. Stephanie had such a good time spending the day with officer Te Yang, that she has already expressed an interest in a repeat adventure.

Send Stephanie’s story to a friend who is facing adversity or needs a pick-me-up. Her courage in the face of tragedy and zest for life is a needed reminder to live each day to the fullest.
