In a heartbreaking example of the personal toll that Coronavirus is wrecking daily, a nurse by the name of Naser Ali Al-Shahrani, from Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh, released a video of himself arriving home from the hospital. In it, his young son, Mohamed, is seen running towards him with open arms, before Mr Al-Shahrani signals for the boy to stop, causing the nurse to break down and cry.

As the Coronavirus crisis continues to affect the entire world, various stories continue to come out, relaying life during the pandemic. These include positive and touching examples, such as celebrities sending messages to stay at home and entertaining fans via digital platforms such as YouTube and Instagram, as well as heartbreaking ones.

Falling into the latter category, a video was released by Naser Ali Al-Shahrani, a nurse working in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh. In the footage, Mr Al-Shahrani arrives home from working a shift at the hospital, as is evidenced by the blue scrubs he's wearing.

We then witness his young son Mohamed run up to him with his arms outstretched –– he's obviously been missing his father and is ecstatic that he's now home. What happens then is crushing. Mr Al-Shahrani can be heard saying "No, no" and signaling for the boy to stop and not come any closer.

The boy stops and appears confused as well as saddened, he is clearly too young to understand what is going on. In that moment Mr Al-Shahrani crouches down onto the floor and begins to cry, covering his face with his hand.

It's a heartbreaking scene but not a unique one. As doctors, nurses, and other medical workers, as well as people working in essential needs areas, continue to put their lives on the line in fighting the Coronavirus, they face similar challenges when coming home to their family every day.

Mr Al-Shahrani's video simply displays this message clearly and in a human way that many can understand. As people like him continue to put their lives on the line, as well as the wellbeing of themselves and their family, it's up to the rest of us to uphold proper social distancing guidelines so as to minimize the spread and overall impact of Coronavirus.

As of writing, there have been 1,563 confirmed cases in Saudi Arabia, with 10 deaths. Globally, cases have risen to 874,607, with 43,429 deaths. Cases in the United States have also risen, marking 188,639 total cases, the most for any country. However, Italy has been the worst hit, with deaths now totaling 12,428.

Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in 203 countries and territories worldwide, as well as two so-called international conveyances, both cruise ships. It's clear that this pandemic is a global issue and one that we must fight together. This means staying at home so as to avoid spreading the virus.

However, this is still not being upheld by everyone, as some people refuse to stay indoors. Just recently, a megachurch pastor in Florida was arrested for holding services and defying social distancing orders by holding mass. In speaking with NBCNews, Sheriff of Hillsborough Country, Chad Chronister, said: "Last night I made the decision to seek an arrest warrant for the pastor of a local church who intentionally and repeatedly chose to disregard the orders set in place by our president, our governor, the CDC and the Hillsborough County Emergency Policy Group."

It is imperative that we listen to government and medical organizations in this trying time, so that this can pass quickly and with as many lives saved as possible.
