Tricia was a mother who desperately wanted to have a second son. At the same time, another mother with the same name wanted her little boy to have a family after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Life seemed unforgiving and bleak for both of these moms, and it seemed easy to lose faith and hope. But an incredible act attributed to divine intervention was about to change their lives forever.

Tricia Seaman, age 43, was an oncology nurse living in Pennsylvania. She had three daughters and one son. At the time, she and her husband were hoping that they could conceive a fifth child. But they couldn't have any more children because of complications in the pregnancy. Undeterred, they turned toward adoption avenues.

The couple filled out all the legal paperwork and got everything in order to adopt another child. At first, they were notified that an 18-month-old needed a family, but the adoption fell through. Tricia refused to give up hope. She worked hard as a nurse and devoted herself to the children. While working at the hospital, she was given an assignment: caring for another patient whose name was Tricia.

Both were moms who shared the same initials. But the other Tricia, Tricia Somers, had cancer and only five months to live. The single mom was attempting to care for one son, eight-year-old Wesley. She had no close relatives to help her out. The two women bonded for three weeks. After Tricia was discharged, her nurse checked on her.

Tricia didn't have a lot of time left. Cancer patient Tricia made a request that would change nurse Tricia's life forever: "Will you raise my son?"

Nurse Tricia couldn't believe the request. It was such a twist of fate -- this woman wanted her son to have another family while she herself desperately wanted another son. It had to be divine intervention.

Because there wasn't much time left, nurse Tricia invited the other Tricia and her son Wesley to her home. Their children instantly bonded. Wesley felt comfortable, sp the parents agreed that nurse Tricia's family would adopt him. Tricia's husband opened up their home to house cancer patient Tricia so that she wouldn't have to live in a nursing home. The couple cared for her until she passed away, surrounded by the adoptive family of her son.
