Nurse Calls Out New Father For Swiping Diapers From Hospital After He Said ‘Nobody’s Gonna Know’

Becoming a parent is exciting for a lot of reasons. You have the chance to start a beautiful family and raise your child or children to become the best possible version of themselves. The steps leading up to becoming a parent and preparing to have kids can be extremely fun, like picking out items for the baby’s nursery and coming up with the perfect baby name. But there can be a lot of other less exciting things to organize such as getting baby supplies sorted out before that big trip to the hospital.

But with so much to think about ahead of when the baby arrives, it's perhaps unsurprising that some parents don't have everything prepared. Or perhaps they simply want to make use of what the hospital has to offer before they take their newborn bundle of joy home.

That was the case when one TikTok user shared a short video of himself taking diapers from underneath the baby's cot in the hospital with the humorous voiceover "nobody's gonna know." Well, nurse Miki Rai reposted the video to her own account and called that person out for supposedly stealing. She captioned her post "literally illegal" and said in her video, "You know that's like illegal, right?"

However, it turns out Rai was actually joking. In the same video, she quickly added, "Just kidding, I'm not a Karen. Hope I didn't trigger you." Rai went on to reveal that not only is taking supplies from the hospital not frowned upon, she actually encouraged her viewers to do so, since anything that gets left behind will be thrown out.

Rai continued in her video:

"I'm a nurse and I'm here to tell you that we have to throw away everything after you leave, so you might as well take it home."

What made Rai's video such a hit was not only that it was funny and light-hearted, but it also revealed such a great insider tip — one that not all nurses will likely tell you. It's no wonder her post went viral. Since it was posted on Feb. 19, 2021, the clip has been viewed over 7 million times and has over 1.5 million likes.

Rai works as both a nurse and has a popular TikTok account on which she details the ins and outs of working in medicine, as well as her personal life. With her funny yet informative view on things, it's no wonder Rai has over 2.4 million followers.

The insider secret that Rai revealed got people in the comments talking, including parents and other nurses. One person wrote:

"When we brought our twins home the nurses bagged it all up for us! We were so thankful!"

Another said, "My nurse told me my insurance paid for it and I should take it all." Meanwhile, a nurse added further to the conversation and explained:

"Generally if we can't wipe it down with disinfectants, it's probably disposable and will get thrown away."

Yet another nurse wrote: "Take it ... We really do have to throw the stuff away. Diapers, wipes, formula, the combs, the nose suction etc. we throw it ALL away."
