A 10-year-old boy is being heralded as a hero after delivering his baby brother and possibly saving his mother's life.

Jayden Fontenot woke up one morning and thought it would be an ordinary day. However, his new little brother had other ideas. Jayden's mother, Ashly Moreau, was 34 weeks pregnant when her water suddenly broke as she was using the bathroom. She knew that this was early but that there was nothing that she could to stop labor now.

All of this happened when Ashly was home alone at their house in Sulfur, Louisiana with Jayden and his 11-month-old sister. Her fiance had just left for work, complicating the situation even more.

Ashly then noticed that she was bleeding and that the baby's feet were sticking out. She sent Jayden next door to his grandma's house for help. However, his grandma was recovering from surgery and was unable to help. Instead, she called 911 and sent Jayden back home to assist.

When Jayden arrived back home, Ashly was bleeding even more and the baby was not breathing. This is when the calm and cool Jayden sprung into action. Jayden heroically pulled out his new brother. Because the infant was not breathing, Jayden used a nasal aspirator to clear out his airways so that he could breathe. The EMS workers then arrived to take Ashly and the newborn to the hospital for additional treatment and observation.

Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. Ashly's fiance, Kelsey Richard, arrived at the hospital to greet his new son. Ashly could not stop gushing about how brave and smart Jayden was through the entire birth process.

What could have had a tragic ending was a happy moment because of Jayden's quick thinking and bravery.
