Nick Jonas And Priyanka Chopra Share Heartwarming Family Photos With Their Baby Daughter

We don't choose who we fall in love with, and that's the beauty of life. We never know who we might meet that will come into our lives and change us forever. Celebrities often find themselves in love with people from all different walks of life, whether that be different backgrounds or large age gaps. The world loves when two celebrities get together. Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra were no exception. 

The two stars came from two different worlds yet somehow ended up being one of the world's favorite young celebrity couples. Jonas grew up as a singer and musician in a band alongside his brothers called the Jonas Brothers. Chopra, on the other hand, spent the beginning of her childhood growing up in India before coming to America for a few years of high school. She got her foot in the door to stardom one day from her little brother. Chopra went on to win Miss India, followed by taking the Miss World crown as well. From there, the doors to the opportunity in the entertainment world opened.

Chopra's unique differences eventually led to her crossover from the Indian film market to the American industry, where she first gained recognition by portraying a range of characters in Indian films before going on to land a starring role in the hit thriller series "Quantico." Being in the Hollywood scene, Chopra believed that her life had prepared her for the American film and TV industry and beyond. 

While both Jonas and Chopra have had successful careers, they have also had a successful family life together. They have been married since December 2018, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter, in January 2022.

In a Vanity Fair interview that was published in January 2022, Jonas and Chopra spoke about their openness to expanding their family by having children of their own. “They’re a big part of our desire for the future,” Chopra said. “By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.” Knowing their lives would have to slow down to raise a child, Chopra admitted that she would be “OK with that.”

Little did the world know that the couple was already well on their way to becoming parents. The Vanity Fair article was published on Jan. 13, 2022, and just two days later, Chopra and Jonas welcomed their daughter into the world via surrogacy.

On Jan. 21, 2022, Jonas posted an announcement on Instagram, confirming that he and Chopra were parents. They welcomed a daughter named Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. The new dad’s post read:

“We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much ❤️”

Since then, Jonas and Chopra have opened up about parenthood and its impact on their relationship. According to ET, Malti had spent more than 100 days in the hospital earlier in 2022. Jonas said:

“Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is.”

A source close to the family told ET:

“The best part is the family is in the comfort of their own home and can start making new memories with their daughter, outside of the hospital. This situation has made the couple stronger than ever and having their daughter makes them feel complete.”

Jonas told TODAY: “Life is beautiful. She’s a gift and we’re just so blessed that she’s back.”

Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar in February 2022, Chopra talked about how she was raised and the impact it has had on her and her relationships. She said:

“I was raised not just by my parents, I was raised by my grandparents, I was raised by my mother’s sisters, my mother’s brothers, my father’s brothers and sisters. Because my parents were studying, they were doing their medical degrees at that time when they had me. I went from family to family and I always had so much love and support in my life. I really do feel that it gave me a sense of balance in my relationships as well.”

Jonas and Chopra have worked hard at keeping their lives as parents as private as possible. This includes the photos of their daughter they have shared with the world. In October 2022, Jonas shared a photograph of himself, his wife and their daughter celebrating Diwali. However, he put a heart emoji over his daughter’s face for privacy reasons. He captioned the post:

“Such a beautiful Diwali celebration with my ♥️. Happy Diwali everyone. Sending joy and light to you all. #diwali”

Chopra also shared photographs of the family on her Instagram page, covering Malti’s face with a heart in her photos as well. In her caption, she wrote: “Love, peace and prosperity to all. From a heart truly laden with gratitude, I wish you all a Happy Diwali. Sorry I’m a little late but decided to stay in the moment just a little bit longer..”
