Marie Phanor cannot contain her joy after seeing her baby girl back after many months of her being away. Her 18-year-old daughter, Taylor, has been away in the hospital for four months, and Phanor couldn’t wait to hug and kiss her when she finally saw her.

According to Inside Edition, Taylor had a fatal accident six years ago on her way to school. The accident left her with a brain injury. She cannot talk or smile or even express her emotions. Ever since the accident, she has been on and off treatment at the Blythedale Children’s Hospital in New York.

Her mother shares that she was headed to the usual spot to pick her from school on that fateful day. She feels grateful that her baby girl is still alive and she gets to be with her. The accident not only affected her brain but also her immune system.

It has been a challenge for the family during the tough time of the coronavirus global pandemic. Her mom has been up and down not knowing what will happen to her daughter. People with low immunity and the elderly are more affected by the pandemic, and that has been Marie’s major concern for her daughter.

Since the government declared coronavirus a pandemic, the hospital locked out visitors, including parents, according to their website. That was in March, and that is the last time Marie saw her daughter.

Since Taylor’s accident, her mom has always taken care of her every day. It explains, therefore, why it was challenging for her to stay calm for longer than a few days without her daughter. However, she was happy that the hospital took care of her daughter. The hospital nurses have been like parents to Taylor. According to Marie, it gave her peace knowing that she didn’t have to worry about her daughter.

Although she felt relief when she saw Taylor again, Marie said it was not easy worrying about her daughter every day for four months. She was so joyous the day she was reunited with her daughter, and she kissed and hugged her in a warm embrace, as seen in the video shared by the hospital on their Facebook page.

She couldn’t contain her joy. Talking after seeing her daughter again, she said it was exhilarating that could finally see and hug her daughter. The four months that Taylor stayed in the hospital were challenging for her mum but she was happy that someone took care of her.

In her joy, Marie sings You are my Sunshine for her daughter as a way to celebrate the reunion and back to normalcy. Young Taylor must also have missed seeing her mum after such a long time.

Marie was not the only person happy at the hospital. So many other parents, grandparents, and siblings came to see their loved ones after the hospital eased visitor restrictions. Victoria’s family, another child in the hospital, celebrated her birthday in the hospital.

Three-year-old Abner also met his great-grandmother. Abner has been in the hospital since birth as he was born prematurely. Maria is another child who saw her mom for the first time in many months. The four-year-old suffers from a rare disorder that affects her joints. Her mom was so eager to hug her after the long wait.

Although the hospital did everything to facilitate virtual visits, Marie and the other parents still longed to see their kids physically and hug them. The nurses have made the long wait bearable as they have been with Marie on phone for days that she felt so lonely away from her daughter. According to Marie, her inspiration comes from her daughter Taylor who has soldiered on through the ordeal.
