New York Man Smitten By Neighbor On Roof Uses Drone To Give Her His Phone Number And Ask Her Out

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing us all to stay home, singletons who are just on the lookout for someone special might find the dating scene a bit difficult to navigate right now.

One New York resident, however, decided that he wouldn’t let the pandemic stand in the way of love. Jeremy Cohen found a creative way to ask out his neighbor – all with a little help from his drone.

Like the rest of us, Cohen is currently social-distancing in his home in Brooklyn, New York. Although he says he never was a flirt, life in isolation has made him realize his desire to connect with others.

Last week, Cohen saw one of his neighbors dancing on her rooftop and he immediately knew he wanted to meet her. He was immediately smitten, so he waved at her – and she waved right back.

“I felt a little bit of a connection and I thought, you know what? How can I get in touch with this person?” He told the Inside Edition.

That’s when Cohen hatched up a genius plan: he used his drone and attached a paper note with his phone number on it for the pretty girl to get back to him.

“I can’t believe this actually worked and yes this is a real story.”

The plan worked, as she texted Cohen back and they arranged a date – from a safe distance, of course. Cohen organized a dinner for himself from his balcony while his date dined on her rooftop as they video-called.

“I told her she looks beautiful,” he said.
