Most women love to fantasize and daydream about the day they get married. From their dress to the bouquet and guests, no detail is overlooked for the happiest day of their life. This includes picking the perfect location.
They might have a certain location picked out such as a piece of family estate. They may want to get married on the beach or in the countryside as it provides a beautiful and romantic setting for a wedding. For soon-to-be North Carolina parents Amanda and Edwin Acevedo, these plans all changed when Amanda went into premature labor.
Amanda went into pre-term labor completely unexpectedly and gave birth to their son, Oliver. Being born at just 30 weeks and and three days, he weighed in at only 3 pounds and 14.6 ounces. Thankfully, little Oliver received wonderful care in the NICU at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.

After his birth, the beach wedding plans were replaced with plans to get married at the courthouse. Instead, they went with the suggestion of getting married in the hospital's chapel. And instead of a bouquet of flowers, Amanda was going to carry her new son down the aisle.
At seven weeks old, Oliver was allowed to be released from the NICU in order to attend the ceremony as the bouquet. Everyone thought Oliver made for a beautiful bouquet. It was decided that he would be un-swaddled since the nurses dressed him in a little suit onesie. This is likely not the wedding day Amanda and Edwin were expecting to have, but it ended up being a truly special and memorable day for them and the rest of the hospital.
People have likely heard of wedding situations which made for a memorable ceremony and wedding day. Carrying a pre-mature baby down the aisle in place of a bouquet is one of many such situations. When people read about Amanda and Edwin's hospital wedding, it may remind them of a wedding they have attended or previously read about.
