Amid all of the turmoil that is going on in the country at the moment, there are still many men, women, and children who love this country. Yes, we said children. This is a story about a young child who loves to watch the American flag blowing in the breeze during his daily walks.

Patriotism is still alive and well amongst Americans, and we hope that this continues to be a trend moving forward. After all, we should all take pride in the country we are living in even if we don’t always agree with how things are run.

Finn Daly is the young boy in this story. Finn is just 6-years-old and was born with Down syndrome, a genetic disorder that can cause a lot of developmental delays. On top of that, Finn also has autism. But these two facts do not stop him from loving the American flag and all that it stands for. His parents are thrilled to go for walks every day through their neighborhood in Connecticut. They stop to check out the many flags that are waving in the wind along their route. Finn loves seeing the red, white, and blue of the flag flapping in the breeze.

Finn particularly enjoys a flag that belongs to Todd Disque, a local neighbor reports CBS. When Disque realized that Finn was pausing to watch his flag when he walked by, he decided that he was going to do something really special to support him. He got out his toolbox and built a beautiful bench just for Finn to sit on. He even inscribed it “Finn’s Bench.” He then set the bench right in front of his home so that Finn could sit down and get the best view of his flag while on a walk. Now Finn has a great place to sit down comfortably to watch as Old Glory waves in the wind.

Brooke and Kevin, Finn’s parents, were brought to tears when they saw the sweet gesture. Brooke stated that this kind of gesture can really restore your faith in the world. She was amazed that some people are willing to do things for others just to be nice.
