Neglected Cat Carrying Around 5 Pounds of Matted Fur Gets Incredible Makeover

Animals are constantly being mistreated. Sadly, abusement is common amongst animals. A kitty cat from Chicago is no exception. The Anticruelty Society of Chicago received a phone call in 2016 about a cat that was deemed a "walking carpet".

After the phone call, the organization met a cat named Sinbad. A utility worker called the organization after seeing the cat in the basement of an elderly man. The organization went to the house and discovered the man could not care for himself, let alone the cat.

The elderly man turned over the cat to the Anticruelty Society.

The eight-year-old Persian was so neglected, he had five pounds of excess fur attached to him. The fur was incredibly matted and dirty with his own feces. He could only walk on his front two legs because his back legs were weighed down by the weight of the fur.

The entire grooming process took hours to finish. Though the process was long and hard, Sinbad was pleasant the entire time.

The kitty cat just wanted some love and affection.

After he was groomed, he crawled into everyone's laps or slept in his temporary bed. One of the workers decided to take him home temporarily. Soon Sinbad made himself a home in the worker's heart. The worker decided to keep the kitty forever.

Sinbad was slowly able to regain his appetite and show off his shiny new fur. Serrano, the worker who adopted him, made an Instagram account in which he updates followers about Sinbad. Though the cat went through a terrible time, he is extremely loving towards humans.

Sinbad is living his best life with Serrano.
