Nearly Deaf Dog Overwhelmed By The Appearance Of Her Soldier Owner

Being separated from the ones that we love is always difficult, and dogs are no exception to the rule. When you have to leave your dog for an extended period of time, the separation can be difficult. Not only do you worry about your favorite pup, but you also wonder if they feel abandoned. It’s so frustrating to want to explain why you left but have no way to put it into words that they can understand. Hannah Foraker knows this feeling far too well. When she had to leave her Cleveland, Ohio home to go to basic training for the US Army, she wondered how her dog would handle the separation. Their reunion is making us all reach for a box of tissue!

The dog’s name is Buddy and she’s thirteen years old, meaning that she’s been a part of most of Hannah Foraker’s life. When Hannah had to leave for basic training, she and Buddy were separated for three and a half months, Today reports. As Christmas approached, Hannah was able to look forward to seeing Buddy over her two-week break. Would the dog even remember her?

That question was quickly answered when Hannah returned home. As soon as she opened the front door to her family’s home, Buddy made her appearance. Although Buddy is old and has arthritis, seeing her favorite girl was more important than her aches and pains. She bounded out to meet Hannah, so excited that she could hardly contain herself.

Buddy was so excited that she turned around and ran back into the house, then returned to come see Hannah again. It was almost as if she couldn’t believe that it was real! Still dressed in her army uniform, Hannah gets down on her knees and takes Buddy in her arms, pulling the old girl’s body against her. It even looks like tears are starting to fill Buddy’s eyes.

While Buddy had been enduring a lot of health problems, seeing Hannah for a few weeks was exactly what the old dog needed to regain her health. During the time that they were together, Buddy was able to bound up and down stairs that had been difficult to climb only days before. We can only hope that she stays healthy until the next time Hannah can return home, according to ABC News.

We’re so glad that these two close friends had such a good visit with each other! What do you think of this special reunion? Let us hear your thoughts in the comment section below.
