Natalie Portman is embracing the magic of motherhood all over again!
The Oscar-winning actress, 45, has opened up about welcoming her third child, describing the experience as one filled with happiness and wonder.
Speaking in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, published Oct. 26, 2026, Portman shared her first public comments since welcoming her newest addition in Paris in August.
“I’m full of wonder and joy at this magical little human,” she said, reflecting on how the newborn has brought a renewed sense of appreciation for her family.
The actress added that having a baby has also changed how she looks at her two older children, son Aleph, 15, and daughter Amalia, 9, whom she shares with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied.
“It gives me a whole new attention to my big kids too, as I am reminded of how recently they were these little fresh creations and how quickly they’ve blossomed into incredible humans with their own amazing personalities and senses of humor and ideas,” Portman explained.
The new baby is Portman’s first child with her partner, French electronic music producer Tanguy Destable.
Portman announced her pregnancy in April, telling Harper’s Bazaar that she and Destable were excited about the news. At the time, she also expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to experience pregnancy again.
“I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle,” she said.
The actress acknowledged that pregnancy can be a difficult journey for many people, explaining that she has loved ones who have struggled to conceive. She wanted to approach her own experience with sensitivity while appreciating the happiness it brought her.

Portman also revealed that she felt calmer during this pregnancy than she had during her earlier experiences.
Having spent much of her adult life in the public eye, the actress particularly appreciated the privacy she enjoyed while living in Paris. She previously told the magazine that when she was pregnant in New York and Los Angeles, paparazzi frequently followed her.
In Paris, she said, she had been able to experience pregnancy with considerably less unwanted attention.
The arrival of her third child comes after a significant period of change in Portman’s personal life. She and Millepied, whom she met while working on the 2010 film “Black Swan,” finalized their divorce in 2024 after 11 years of marriage.
Now, as she settles into life with her growing family, Portman is also reflecting on what matters most to her.
In the same interview, she spoke about prioritizing happiness and finding fulfillment in everyday moments rather than chasing perfection.
“I do feel like it’s so simple, just being kind and loving and being able to laugh,” she said. “That’s all that matters.”
Portman is also preparing for the release of her upcoming film “The Gallerist,” an art-world satire directed by Cathy Yan and featuring Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sterling K. Brown. The movie is scheduled to arrive in December.
Despite her busy career, the actress said she hopes to bring more happiness to audiences through her work, particularly at a time when the world can feel overwhelming.
For now, however, Portman appears to be savoring a particularly meaningful personal milestone: welcoming a new baby while watching her older children grow into their own people.
And as she discovers motherhood from a fresh perspective, the actress seems more grateful than ever for the joy her family brings.
