There are not many songs as universally recognized and adored as "Amazing Grace." With its haunting melody and powerful lyrics, the song alone can move anyone to tears. This feeling is amplified when it is performed on the bagpipes, because the instrument gives off such a sorrowful and beautiful sound. One woman, Archy J., performed "Amazing Grace" in a video that was posted in 2018. The video went viral and now has over 32 million views.

Archy J. is also known by her stage name "The Snake Charmer." She comes from Delhi, India, and has a true way with music and a real passion for playing the bagpipes. She even confesses that playing the bagpipes was always one of her true desires in life, and mastery of the complicated instrument was something she had always wanted above all else. So, she decided to go to Scotland and learn how to play from the masters.

Her ten days in Scotland were mostly spent in structured tutelage of the instrument, investing her time as well as she possibly could. Archy J., a true artist, believed that everything would be well worth it if she put in her time to the instrument of the bagpipes.

Of course, ten days is not nearly enough time to learn any instrument aside from the kazoo, and this musician wishes she could have stayed longer. Watching her videos you can see that, while she picked up quite a bit of instruction on the bagpipes while in Scotland, she clearly put time and effort into refining her technique upon her return.

Fans love Archy J. for her hauntingly beautiful vocals as well. She performed at a cafe in 2012, covering Adele's hit track "Someone Like You," and this when she began being known as a charmer, and continued to book gigs and pull crowds.

As well as being a singer, Archy J. once fronted a band from the capital of India known as the Rogue Saints, while also working a job that paid her quite well. However, she gave up that life to pursue learning the bagpipes full-time.

Now, a star in her own right, Archy J. has over 32 million views on her performance of "Amazing Grace." She wrote in the video's description: "(This) is a song that touches everybody's soul. A song that brings peace, serenity, calmness, humility and joy all at once. This is my version of this wonderful song that sounds hauntingly beautiful on an instrument like Bagpipes, in fact Amazing grace is most popularly played on Bagpipes."

At one point in the video, Archy J. is joined by more bagpipe players and the combined sound of their instruments can bring you to tears. The moving video was made as a tribute to the souls who have passed on from this world. Archy J. added in her video's description, "This video was shot in Barcelona, Spain and Solan, India, and is a video in remembrance of those we lost."

One person stopped to leave a comment sharing that the performance helped him honor the memory of his late wife. He wrote, "My wife wanted this done for her funeral last November. I am watching it today in memory of her! Thank you ever so much for providing this video!"
