Céline had humble beginnings in a small town in Québec, along with 13 other siblings. She grew up in a musical household and sent her first demo tape to a producer at the young age of 12 according to her website. Her talent was undeniable and she began her journey to stardom with that producer, René Angélil.

The young protege started getting booked for French-language TV performances and even won the Eurovision song contest in 1988 shortly after singing at the Olympics on an international stage in Montreal.

Under René’s wing, her career continued to skyrocket and she even landed an opportunity to sing in a Disney film, “Beauty and the Beast.” This was the mid-90s, an incredible time for Céline who now had a string of #1 hits including “The Power of Love.” On top of her professional achievements, she was also falling in love with René and married him in 1994.

The stand-out of her entire repertoire was soon to come, with the theme from “Titanic,” the megahit “My Heart Will Go On.” Additional hits and global tours came afterward and she eventually found time to slow down and become a mother.

In 2001, Céline and René became the parents to their son René-Charles, while nine years later in 2010, they were again blessed with children: two twin boys.

A heart-wrenching turn came for the Dion family when René succumbed to a battle with cancer in 2016, a devastating loss for his wife and children.

The turning point saw Céline rise from the ashes as she told USA Today in 2019, “René is still within me. I see him through the eyes of my children everyday. I'm so passionate about life, and I'm so lucky to have my three beautiful sons.”

Today, fans are celebrating a type of “Dionaissance” where the singer has started to express herself through her impeccable fashion taste. Harpers Bazaar describes her choice to wear exclusively couture in her live shows while her street looks have stepped up a notch with buzzy designers and daring looks.

But it’s not just a way to look good, it’s a coping mechanism for her. As she told People in 2017, “I’ve always loved fashion, from as far back as I can remember. But as everyone knows, I’ve gone through some extremely difficult times in recent years, and I suppose that I’m spreading my wings a little bit more these days and doing so with the help of beautiful clothing and accessories.”
