While it was previously seen that Mr. Peanut died in a tragic accident in a pre-Super Bowl commercial, it turns out that he is not dead after all.

Another ad aired during the Super Bowl itself that showed Mr. Peanut's funeral, and his surprising return as Baby Nut.

The initial commercial showed him and his friends, Wesley Snipes and Matt Walsh, cruising around desert canyons in a nut-mobile. All of a sudden they get in an accident and Mr. Peanut sacrifices himself for his two friends.

The end of the ad shows an image of his outline with "1916-2020" enscribed below.

Just when we thought that we had to grieve for the iconic 104-year-old mascot, a follow-up commercial aired during the Super Bowl itself last Sunday night. The ad opened on his funeral where his famous friends attended including the sobbing Mr. Clean and the Kool-Aid Man. Snipes and Walsh were also there, with Snipes reading the eulogy.

At a key moment, the Kool-Aid Man's tears drop on Mr. Peanut's grave and everything changes.

All of a sudden an adorable baby peanut appears out of the now blossoming grave soil, and he arrives cooing with dolphin sounds. Snipes is seen ripping up his eulogy notes when Mr. Peanut declares, "Just kidding. I'm back."

First thing is first, and he asks "Where's my monocle?"
