In April 2025, several cast members from the beloved 1985 sitcom “Mr. Belvedere” – including Tracy Wells Tofte, Brice Beckham, Ilene Graff, and Rob Stone – reunited for a heartfelt occasion. They met at the airport and traveled together to Milwaukee to honor their late co-star, Bob Uecker, who passed away in January 2025 at the age of 90.
Before rising to fame on screen, Uecker played Major League Baseball and transitioned to broadcasting in 1971. As the longtime voice of the Milwaukee Brewers, he became a treasured figure in the sport and a beloved presence in his hometown. Known for his wit, charm, and deep knowledge of the game, Uecker is widely regarded as one of the greatest broadcasters in baseball history.
“Mr. Belvedere” is an American sitcom that aired on ABC from 1985 to 1990. The show centered on Lynn Belvedere, a witty and sophisticated English butler played by Christopher Hewett, who comes to live with and work for the Owens family in suburban Pittsburgh. The English actor Hewett died in Los Angeles at age 80 in 2001.
His entertainment career included a starring role as George Owens, the quirky and lovable father on “Mr. Belvedere,” as well as appearances in the popular Major League films. Ever loyal to baseball, Uecker arranged his acting work around the MLB season to avoid missing any games.
His ability to seamlessly juggle his passions for sports and entertainment made him a unique and enduring American figure. As friends and fans gathered to celebrate his life, they remembered not only a legendary broadcaster and actor but also a man who brought joy to generations.

The Milwaukee Brewers hosted an invitation-only celebration of life to honor the legendary Uecker, paying tribute to his extraordinary legacy as both a beloved entertainer and an iconic figure in sports.
Wells, who played Heather Owens on “Mr. Belvedere,” commemorated the occasion by sharing a heartfelt Instagram post of her former castmates.
“The Owens Family goes to Milwaukee!” the caption read.
The day before the event, she also posted a photo of Uecker with the message:
“Flying to Milwaukee ✈️ tomorrow with my Belvedere family to celebrate this great human being. ❤️”
Following Uecker’s passing in January 2025, Tofte reflected on their time together, writing:
“I’ll always treasure the memories from ‘Mr. Belvedere’ – there were so many. Bob was the glue that held us together and kept us grounded. He never took anything too seriously, and his #1 goal was always to make us laugh.”
Beckham, who portrayed Wesley Owens on “Mr. Belvedere,” also honored Uecker with touching words:
“90 years and still gone too soon. Bob Uecker was one of a kind, the only person I know who had, not one, but two statues dedicated in his honor. He never failed to make us laugh and I count myself lucky to have called him ‘Dad’ for those 5 formative years. We’ll miss him as he takes his seat ‘in the front row.’”
The event brought together cast, colleagues, and fans to celebrate a man whose warmth, wit, and talent made a lasting mark across generations.
