Mother's Surprise Birthday Guest Backfires As Children Flee Party Screaming In Terror

It is pretty common for parents to hire an entertainer for a child’s birthday party. Usually, they choose magicians, singers or the occasional clown. However, one little girl from Oklahoma received the scare of her young life when her mother hired Bigfoot to come to her sixth birthday party.

Brett, who is the birthday girl’s mother, said that she typically goes all-out for birthday parties with an over-the-top birthday cake. This year, after the cake plans fell through, Brett was looking for something else to surprise her daughter and the other partygoers.

What Brett and her husband chose was "Mrs. Bigfoot," also known as Cinnamon, who showed up to the party in a blue tutu and a bow on her head. The cryptid peeked through the windows of the party when she arrived, holding up balloons and a gift. 

As soon as the children caught a glimpse of the surprise guest, they were struck with immediate horror and fear. They began to scream in terror and many children began to cry and run away. Even the family dog looked confused. 

After Mrs. Bigfoot made her way inside, the parents gave her a hug and the kids realized she wasn’t so scary and began to warm up to her. They even posed for photos and had smiles on their faces. The initial scare did make for an exciting moment, though. 

Brett and her husband recorded the moment on video and posted it to TikTok where it has been viewed thousands of times by people all over the world. Read on to learn more about this hilarious party gone wrong.

Brett wrote over the video on TikTok: “That one time we hired Bigfoot Shenanigans to surprise our sweet girl for her birthday party and it went epically wrong!” The children’s screams are at first terrifying and then hilarious when you realize it is just the costumed person they are so afraid of.

The mother also gave a statement to 2 News Oklahoma about how they decided to choose Mrs. Bigfoot for the party. "We just thought, I mean she came with balloons and a bow and a tutu, so I thought 'oh this will be cute and fun,'" Brett said. "Well, my kids did not have that reaction."

Viewers of the video left comments sharing their own reactions. “I haven’t laughed this hard in a good long time,” wrote one good-natured person.

Another commenter wrote, “Who would think this would be a good idea? This would be horrifying. I like how the dog is all confused when the kids start screaming.” The dog wasn’t sure why everyone was so upset, it was a party after all. 

Other viewers agreed with the children in this situation. One person said, “I would have been terrified even as an adult, that was the worst costume.” They have a point. The costume probably didn’t need to look so life-like. Although, the bow and tutu should have given it away.

Brett ended her interview with this light-hearted statement: "I would just recommend it for a good time because obviously by the video my kids thought so too. But they don’t want her to come back though."
