Sometimes just taking a few seconds out of your day to show someone else some attention can mean the world to them. We get so caught up in being busy and getting to places that we can even forget that there are other people in the world and forget about the small things in life too.

A fireman in New Hampshire didn't think twice about spending a little time with a boy to help make an impact. It was January 31st and the Manchester Fire Department got the call to report to an apartment building. In the apartment the fire alarms had been sounded. This created quite a commotion and scared some of the children pretty badly. Everyone had been evacuated from the building. There wasn't any damage or injuries. It was more like a false alarm.

They really didn't have any reason to be at the apartment. But, they decided to make the best of their time there. They interacted with the children. They let them play with their hats and everyone enjoyed them being there. One of the firemen, Lt. Mike Rheault, really made one child's day. A boy wouldn't talk to him or say anything. This is when Rheault stopped to communicate in a different way. The boy's mother, McCall, noticed what was going on and began to video. He had no problem talking with him in the language the boy understood, sign language.

McCall states that Tegan has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This makes it difficult for him to communicate and even sign. He normally uses a speech device to help him communicate. But, for some reason, he didn't have any issues signing right back to Rheault. McCall is very thankful to Rheault for taking the time out of his day to make her son feel special. She goes on to say that she is grateful for the entire Manchester Fire Department. Rheault admits that he loves to see a child smile after they have an encounter with a firemen.

He recently heard that the video has over 1.7 million views and his hopes are that this means there are 1.7 million smiles that have occurred. He can't believe how many people have viewed the video.

Send this video on to a friend and help make smiles all over the world for the kindness this fireman shared!
