Mother Livid After $113 Grinch Visit Left House Trashed And Son Covered In Juice

Dr. Seuss’ classic Christmas story “The Grinch” is about a grumpy character who hates Christmas and does everything he can to ruin it for the village of Whos who live nearby. At the end of the story, the Grinch sees the Whos celebrating and loving one another in spite of all the ways he tried to ruin the holiday. He shows remorse and learns to appreciate Christmas. This was the type of performance that Laura Magill from Northern Ireland expected when she hired a Grinch impersonator to come to her Christmas party.
Magill said she thought the impersonator would playfully mess with decorations and have pillow fights with the kids before posing for photos. What she ended up with was her house trashed, all the food she worked so hard to prepare thrown on the floor and a bottle of juice poured all over the ground and her young son. This nightmare Grinch was told to leave before they could take any pictures because Magill said she was fuming.
There was frosting smeared onto the hardwood floors and even some Christmas tree decorations that were broken. Magill tried to reach out to the company that she had paid £85 ($113) for the visit but received no reply. The mom went on Facebook and made a post that showed photos of the messy aftermath as well as her son’s onesie pajamas soaked with juice. She wrote in her post what had happened and told her friends that she does not recommend the Grinch experience.
People who commented on the post were sympathetic, but some thought the woman received just what she paid for. Keep reading for more details and to see some of the replies.

In her post, Magill shared what she thought she was getting when she hired the Grinch impersonator. She said, “So, paid £85 for Grinch visit … advertises the Grinch to come in, mess the kids’ bed, have pillow fights, put toilet rill around your Christmas tree and pictures at the end.”
The mom then went on to describe what she actually received. Magill wrote: “Versus what I got, every single bit of party food, expensive cupcakes were thrown all over the place, tree decorations broke! Fairy Liquid poured on my kitchen floor, eggs smashed, a full bottle of juice poured over my floor and SON! Kid’s new onesie ruined.”
Magill was furious, to say the least. At the end of her post, she added: “Highly DO NOT recommend, emailed and complained, no reply. The Grinch definitely came and stole Christmas. Never been so disgusted in my life!”
The story and photos got passed around on social media, and some commenters felt that the woman should have expected this treatment when she hired the impersonator. One person said, “Paid for the Grinch, got the Grinch. No pleasing some people.”
Another person added: “So you invited and paid someone to come to your house to wreck it and are unhappy with the dedication and care he showed to his craft? You do realize who the Grinch is, don’t you? He isn’t particularly fond of Christmas.”
Whether or not Magill got what she paid for is up for debate, but what is perfectly clear is that she was livid. Needless to say, this mom won’t be hiring any Grinch impersonators next Christmas.
