Mother Leaves Cardboard Cut-Out Of Herself In Toddler's Room Because He Cries Whenever She Leaves

The Sato family was disrupted by the fact that their toddler would do nothing but cry whenever his mother was out of sight. She couldn't do anything, even if someone else was watching the child.

So this genius mom came up with an amazing concept: a realistic cardboard cut-out that fooled the toddler into thinking she was there.

Fuki Sato, in Japan, made two models of herself, one standing and one sitting on the ground. She'd place them where the toddler could see but not approach them, leave someone else to watch the child, and the toddler was fooled into thinking his mother was there as well and stopped crying whenever she left the room to do things like take a shower or prepare a meal.

The cardboard cut-outs are impressively realistic and could fool an adult into thinking Fuki is present. The child happily plays, thinking his mother is just over there. She comes back to check on him every 20 minutes or so, and in the meantime either his father or another adult is actually present and keeping an eye on him.

His father explained "It's hard because my one-year-old child cries as soon as mum disappears." The couple shared images of the genius trick on Twitter, showing the toddler happily playing with his toys while the cardboard cut-out watched over him from the doorway or across the room.

Do you know someone with a toddler who tantrums whenever his mother is out of sight? Clearly you need to spread the word of this amazing parenting trick far and wide!
