Mother Is Furious When She Discovers Daycare Workers Taped Daughter's Shoes To Feet

Any parent knows how hard it is to give up your children and let them stay in a daycare. It's not an enviable job, as you have to trust your child to strangers and just hope for the best (without being able to monitor it constantly). Despite that, you can trust daycare officials.

In most cases, that's the truth. However, it wasn't the truth for North Carolina mother Jessica Hayes when she picked up her daughter, Addison, from daycare. When Addison was picked up, she was crying heavily. Jessica Haynes looked at her 17 month old's feet and noticed they were swollen.

Further inspection revealed the girl had red welts and bruises around her ankles.

These marks - and Addison's pain - were present due to the fact that daycare employees had taped her shoes to her feet.

Previously, Addison had developed the skill of taking her own shoes off, and wasn't a fan of putting them back on. (If you're a parent, you know how it is.) To counter this, the staff decided that taping her shoes to her was the best option. However, they did it so horribly that it dug her shoes into her feet and left marks on her skin.

Naturally and rightly angry, Haynes made an important phone call to the daycare and asked to review the video footage of the daycare employees doing this to her daughter. After a review of the footage (captured by security cameras), the director of the daycare fired the two employees who had done the horrible action and made a formal apology to Jessica.

Since the people who did it were gone, Addison has remained enrolled in the daycare and is much happier now.

Jessica Haynes was met with much support online (people couldn't fathom treating a child - especially a child that small - in such a mean-spirited fashion). However, she also received some criticism that she should've been buying smaller shoes for her daughter that actually fit. Despite that, the majority of the reaction to the story has been in favor of Jessica and Addison, with many people revealing their happiness that the incident is behind them and that Addison can continue happily in her daycare.

The mother and daughter are lucky to be able to continue on without having to worry about this happening again since the story is now so large! It's highly doubtful anymore harm can come to any children at that daycare.
