Mother Dog Found Abandoned On A Dirt Road In Georgia With Her Puppies Tied To Her In A Crate Has Been Rescued

January 2020 in Georgia, a father and son spotted a beautiful black and white dog dragging a crate behind her on a dirt road. Stopping their vehicle, the two men looked closer to see a heartbreaking sight. The dog dragging the crate was the mother of four puppies, who were imprisoned in the wire cage. The father and son immediately released the mother dog and brought the animals to McIntosh County Animal Services, or MCAS, in nearby Darien.

Staff with MCAS immediately brought the five dogs into their center, where they were given food and water. Staff also vaccinated, dewormed, and bathed the poor animals, who also had fleas. Speaking with reporters from WTOC News, Marianna Hagan, director of MCAS, said that upon extricating the four puppies from the cage, staff with the rescue group found that the poor animals were covered in feces and smelled very bad.

Thankfully, the mother and her four puppies will hopefully live a happy life from here on. After being able to rest for a few days, the five canines will be offered up for adoption through Fancy Cats and Dog Rescue in Virginia. Pilot N Paws, a nonprofit group that flies at-risk pets to rescue agencies, transported the five dogs to Virginia for free.

"There's been a dramatic difference in their health and in their behavior,” Hagan said, happily. However the director would like to see consequences for what the dogs were put through, saying that person could face several charges.
