Being a parent is not the easiest job in the world. When you’re a parent, your kids come first. Nevertheless, it is important for parents to make time for themselves. Setting aside time for yourself allows you to recharge, making you all the better for your children. With this in mind, the story of a Florida mom has made national headlines after she celebrated her sons’ first day of school by going to Disney World alone.

Lisa DiNoto is the proud mom of two boys and writes her own blog that she calls The Castle Run. Lisa’s two young children love school and couldn’t wait to see their friends again and meet their new teachers. Just the same, Lisa needed some time to herself after a busy summer of looking after her kids. Dropping-off her boys at school, Lisa went to Disney World, where she wrote on one of the park’s buttons that she was celebrating the first day of school.

The young mom chronicled all of the exciting things that she did on her blog, including pictures of her with Snow White and Cinderella’s Fairy God Mother. Lisa had a particularly fun time with the Fairy God Mother, telling her readers that the two giggled and hugged when Lisa told her the reason she came to the park that day. By the end of the day, Lisa was back at school in time to pickup her kids, with the three of them sharing what they did that day on the ride back home.

In case anyone might question her on why she went to Disney World without her kids, Lisa says on her blog that her family lives a short ten-minute drive from the park and that she and her kids visit very often. So far, Lisa’s has gotten an enthusiastic response for her trek to Disney. The mom reiterated the importance of mental health days for parents, saying that parents can take better care of their kids when they take care of themselves.
