Cancer is a truly terrifying thing. Many people succumb to their illness when they get cancer, so it is a truly amazing thing when someone beats their cancer and tests negative. Lakesha Ball was told she had breast cancer, but she refused to take the news as a death sentence and vowed that she would be healed.

Lakesha told WBFF-TV  that she never felt discouraged through the ordeal, which is something that can easily become a problem. It is far too easy to succumb to negativity when faced with a cancer battle, but Lakesha said she continued to pray and walked through the entire thing with God.

“I never got discouraged, never sad,” Ball said. “I walked with God the whole way, prayed the whole time.”

She says God was crucial to her getting through everything and is extremely grateful for her health. She can now call herself a breast cancer survivor, which truly is a beautiful thing.

Lakesha could not wait to arrive at the Proton Center, where she would be able to ring the bell, signifying to the world that she has beaten her cancer. She grabbed a hold of the bell and rang it as loud as she could while dancing around and yelling out in excitement. Her entire family was there to cheer her on and the happiness that they felt during this moment was palpable.

“I was determined to ring that bell, I almost pulled that bell off the wall!”, she told WBFF-TV

You can hear them laughing with joy as they watched Lakesha ring the bell, which is something that can really bring a tear to your eye. No one wants to see a family member go through this type of struggle, but cancer is a reality that far too many people have to deal with. If you find yourself faced with cancer, there is no better way to approach the situation than with peace and serenity.

Lakesha kept her hopes up and put her trust in God that she would be able to be healed and it just so turns out that this was the case. Breast cancer is something that affects both women and men, although many people think it is something that only women can get.

It is important to visit the doctor and get checked up, especially if you notice that something is out of the ordinary.

If you notice you have a lump on your chest, it is absolutely crucial to make an appointment as soon as humanly possible. Early detection is key when it comes to beating cancer, so make sure you call your doctor if you notice an irregularity.
