When you think about family members taking care of each other when they are sick or injured, you might not think about a young girl taking care of a parent.

After the mother of a 6-year-old little girl left her home, the young girl stepped up to help take care of her paralyzed father.

The mother left the family because her husband's disability was simply too much for her to handle at the time.

Jia Jia lives in China, and instead of playing with dolls or reading books like other children, she provides the care needed for her father who can't walk.

Each morning, Jia Jia gets up to give her father a massage for about 30 minutes. This helps to stimulate his muscles for the day. After his massage, Jia Jia assists in brushing her father's teeth and helping him get dressed. She feeds him and cleans as well.

There is a hoist in the home that the little girl uses to help move her father from one area to another, such as from the bed to a kitchen chair.

If it weren't for Jia Jia caring for her father, then he would likely have to stay in a nursing facility while Jia Jia stays with other family members or in a foster home. She doesn't complain about taking care of her father.

Instead, she enjoys caring for him because she knows that she is the only one he has left.

Jia Jia attends school for a few hours during the day as well. Her grandparents provide care when she is in school so that she can learn and be around kids her own age.

When school is over, Jia Jia wants to go home to take care of her father again.
