Mom Tucks Children Into Bed Wearing Next Day's Clothes And Says It 'Works Wonders'

Any parent knows that getting their child out of bed and ready for school in the morning can be a real nightmare. In a household with kids, mornings are a stressful time. This led one Australian mom to come up with a creative solution to make the process a bit easier, but some other parents are divided on whether or not her parenting hack is in the best interest of her kids.

Lisa Lamond hosts a popular home renovation show in Australia. She's also the mother of two little girls. To save time in the morning, Lisa puts her girls to bed in the outfits that they're going to wear to school the next day.

"I don't have a spare hour [to get them ready!]," Lisa told Un-Glossy magazine, citing her job as a television host as the reason her mornings are extra hectic."It works wonders for me and where I’m at in life at the moment," she continued.

In the mornings, Lisa and her husband wake their kids up, change their diapers and then take them to school. Lisa insists that this method works for them, but some parents think it's a bad idea.

"Nah, my son would trash his with breakfast anyway. Also, his day clothes wouldn’t be comfortable at night. Good in theory but just not practical!" one mother argued on Facebook.

"I don't like this at all. What happened to washing your face, brushing teeth, and getting dressed to start the day fresh?" another mom remarked.

However, some parents thought Lisa's parenting hack made sense.

"Goodness so much judgement! If this works for them, what’s the problem?" she asked on Facebook. "I have done this several times in the aim of saving time in the morning and giving my children a little extra sleep in. Seeing as I’m up at 5 after sleeping 5-6 hours, I certainly don’t think it qualifies me as lazy. Meanwhile my children get a solid 8-10 hours."

Lisa also shared her other favorite time-saving mom hack with the Australian press, which is to utilize online grocery services.

She says that by cutting grocery shopping out of her weekly routine, she's able to enjoy more time with her family. She also completely blocks off Sundays as designated family days and won't read e-mails or take work-related calls.
