Mom Tries Weird 'Banana' Sleep Hack She Saw On Social Media And Is Taken Aback When It Actually Works

She has been using the hack for months and has continued to use it since it works so seamlessly well.

It’s common for parents to share what they’ve learned with other parents who may be struggling with similar issues, which is exactly what this TikTok mom has gone on to do. Alison has gone on to help other parents with getting their own little ones to sleep at night and has inspired others to try out the simple hack. All you need is one sleepless child and a banana, and you are sure to be just as shocked as Alison was with the results.

Getting a good night’s rest is important for everyone, especially babies and toddlers, as they require an ample amount of sleep to help with their development. Cafe Mom detailed a few tricks that mothers from all over have tried out, finding specific ones that work for their kids. “I put her in her car seat, put the car seat on top of the dryer, and turned it on,” one mother said

Another mom explained how she got her daughter to fall asleep: “When my daughter was just a few months old and my oldest was in swimming lessons, we found that every time we went to his lesson she would fall asleep and nap the entire time. So at home, we downloaded a swimming pool white noise recording and she would fall asleep within a couple of minutes.”

It’s common for mothers to share what they’ve learned with other moms in case anyone else is struggling with the same problems. Alison has gained quite a large following on the social media platform TikTok, surpassing 58.4 thousand followers. Sharing videos of her adorable kid and their days together, Alison has received more than 1.7 million likes across her videos. In her bio, the mom wrote, “my content is not consistent & my biggest flex is my funny kid. enjoy.”

The mother has also uploaded a few videos where she tested out and reviewed various parenting hacks that she found on the social media platform. Since then, she has uploaded a TikTok showcasing a trick that is set to help toddlers sleep through the night.

In a TikTok uploaded on July 29, 2021, Alison revealed the “most life-changing” parenting hack she has tested. “I saw a video on TikTok of someone saying that if you give your baby a banana before bed, they will sleep through the night,” she explained, with her adorable and talkative child in the background. 

Could it really be that easy? According to Alison, it is! “Anyone that knows me knows that I have had the absolute worst sleep since the day she was born,” Alison said, describing her daughter’s unwillingness to turn in for the night. “We started the banana trick, eight months in and she sleeps through the night.”  Without fault, the trick has shocked Alison as it has worked remarkably well.

The mom’s video has since gone viral, garnering over 3 million views, as per the Mirror. Many mothers commented on the video, excited about trying out the hack themselves. One mom wrote,” Tell us more things. I’m trying the banana with toddler tomorrow.” Another chimed in, explaining just why the hack might work so well, and said, “Bananas have magnesium and magnesium helps you sleep.” A third commenter said, “OMG I wanna cry right now! I hope this works for us! Eight-month-old refuses to sleep longer than 30 minutes alone.”

The viral video has continued to circulate across TikTok and other outlets, inspiring parents to try the hack out for themselves. With just a simple banana, this TikTok mom has shown that it’s possible to finally get your little one to sleep through the night.
