Mom Sees Footage Of Daycare Worker Breastfeeding Her Baby Son Without Permission

Kaycee Oxendine was a pre-kindergarten teacher at Carrboro Early School in Carrboro, N.C., a city of 20,000 situated directly west of Chapel Hill, who had received a gracious offer from a co-worker to breastfeed her 3-month-old son in an attempt to help ease his constipation.

However, after she turned down the offer, the woman would not take no for an answer and breastfed him anyway. This was caught on video, and, needless to say, Kaycee was absolutely outraged when she saw that video.

After the other teacher had made that offer, Kaycee even said no on repeated occasions. Not only did the thought of another woman breastfeeding her son make her uncomfortable, even telling WTVD, "That's nasty," but he also had specific needs after having been born prematurely. One of those was his being lactose intolerant, meaning that any milk products, including those from a human breast, could cause that to flair up. Instead, he was only supposed to drink soy formula and soy milk.

Following Kaycee making it crystal clear to the other woman that she did not want her to nurse him, she returned to work, assuming that her wishes were going to be upheld. Why wouldn't they be? Unfortunately, she was mistaken. However, she didn't realize it at the time. Instead, what happened was her son becoming violently ill that evening and vomiting, causing her to need to rush him to a hospital at the nearby University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Later, a third woman showed her surveillance footage of the other woman breastfeeding her son just moments after she had entrusted him with her and left the room. That woman was fired shortly thereafter while Kaycee pursued criminal charges against her, telling WTVD that, in no uncertain terms, "a criminal act was committed against him."

She added that she was solely upset at this woman, not at the childcare center as a whole or at its director as he had "done everything in his power that he can do." However, the Carrboro Police Department ultimately decided against filing any charges after it had finished investigating the incident and consulting with attorneys.

Do you think that criminal charges should have been filed? Imagine yourself watching that video and it being your child. What would your emotions have been at that time and how would you have reacted had something like this happened to your child?
