When a young girl begins her period, especially while at school, it can sometimes be embarrassing for her. When it's her first period, it can be very inconvenient if you aren't prepared with the proper supplies.

Sometimes, a girl has a friend who is there to rescue her or a woman in her life who has the supplies that she needs. A teen boy is usually not who you think of when you think about who would help with her needs. A mother offered praise to a boy who was there for her daughter when she started her period.

The young girl started her period while on her bus. When the older boy saw that she had a stain on her pants, he quietly told her about it and offered to help. He let her use his sweater to tie around her until she could change her clothes and handle the situation in a manner that was comfortable. The young boy told the girl that he has sisters and understands about what it's like to start a period without any warning.
