Late last month, Brandee Hanes caught her son Owen praying for his grandfather who contracted COVID-19 in the backyard of their home in Atlanta, Georgia. Since most of Brandee and Owen's family members contracted the virus and they are unable to visit them at the hospital, Owen decided that he can help by praying for their recovery.

In April, Brandee Hanes found her son Owen sitting in the backyard with his toy trucks all piled up next to him on the glass table. When she looked closer, she realized that Owen had his head bowed, eyes closed, and hands clasped. He was praying.
Brandee learned that he was praying for his Opa (grandfather in Dutch), to recover from contracting COVID-19.

According to Ron Project, five of Owen and Brandee's family have tested positive for the virus. It had taken them some time before they realized what it was, but Owen’s aunt, uncle, cousin, grandma, and grandpa, all were infected and had symptoms of the disease.
Realizing he and his parents cannot visit them at the hospital, all he can do is pray for them. Most especially his grandpa, who had been in the hospital for more than a month.

Speaking to apost, Brandee shared an update that her dad, Owen's grandpa, finally got tested negative for COVID-19 less than a week ago. She added: "They have since moved him to a rehab facility that will help get him off the tracheostomy (ventilator)." She explained that he will have to relearn basic things like swallowing and breathing on his own. She ended the interview with a much-reminded reminder:
We have still had many ups and downs but God provides.

What a sweet boy. Owen's parents must be very proud of their adorable, thoughtful son. Pass this along to your friends and family to spread a message of hope.
